Vitamin D in your Body and it’s importance

There is more and more data coming out on this important Vitamin, and it all points to Vitamin D playing a vital role in the body.

Vitamin D as it stands plays an important part in keeping bones, teeth and muscles healthy. Not to mention it’s effect in the immune system as it has both anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory properties, and is crucial for the activation of immune system defenses.

Vitamin D is also known to enhance the function of immune cells, including T cells and macrophages, that protect your body against pathogens. And may have a larger role in things such as Cancer, Cardiovascular diseases, and even Covid 19.

A deficiency in Vitamin D, which is surprisingly common in the uk (around one in five adults and one in six children don’t have enough vitamin D) can not only stop you from gaining the benefits of this wonderful vitamin, but can also leave you feeling sluggish and tired, with no energy.

Vitamin D is created in the body as a result of it’s exposure to the sun, however during winter, this can be challenging. Luckily there are many vitamin D supplements that can aid you in this, though I would advise getting medical advice before using these.
